Otters!
I was up early again today and it's beautifully clear, the sun was just making its way over the rooftops and I heard slashes and grunts from out on the estuary. And there I saw a whole family of otters! They had come sliding down the little stream opposite us and were out for their morning swim - and breakfast. The estuary is full of some sort of little fish and the family was guzzling them! I grabbed my camera and went down on the dock to get a bit closer. They slithered up onto the dock next to ours and then they saw me and slipped
back into the water. As they came my way they headed under our dock and made their way over to the next one, all the time, grunting and slashing! Hinckley was down on the dock with me and couldn't figure out what the noise was!
